Instant Kehwah vs Tea Bags: Which Fits Your Day?

Compare Instant Kehwah and plant-based pyramid tea bags: preparation, water measures, pack sizes, sugar choices and caffeine information.

Instant Kehwah tin containing 25 individually wrapped sachets

Both Instant Kehwah and our plant-based pyramid tea bags make a cup with hot water. Choose Instant when you want a 20-second stir. Choose a tea bag when you want to steep the ingredients and adjust the brewing time. The water measure and pack size differ too.

Instant Kehwah: a quick cup

Empty one sachet into a cup, add 150 ml hot water and stir for 20 seconds. There is no tea bag to remove. Each Instant tin contains 25 individually wrapped sachets, making it easy to take a few cups with you or keep a tin wherever you have access to hot water.

The two options are Kehwah — No Sugar and Kehwah — Sugar. Both contain cardamom, almond, cinnamon, green tea and saffron; the Sugar version also contains sugar. Choose the version that suits how you like your cup.

Plant-based pyramid tea bags: time to steep

Our tea cartons contain 20 individually wrapped plant-based pyramid tea bags. Use one bag with 120 ml water and let it steep for the time on the pack. Green-tea blends take 2–3 minutes, black-tea blends 3–4 minutes, and botanical blends 4–6 minutes.

Brewing gives you a simple way to change the strength. Try a little more time for a fuller cup or remove the bag earlier for a lighter one. Keep the water measure steady while you find your preferred steep.

Which format fits your day?

For a short break between tasks, Instant keeps preparation simple: empty, add water and stir. For travel, an individually wrapped sachet can be easier to carry than a whole tin. You still need a suitable cup and hot water.

For a slower morning or tea with guests, a plant-based pyramid tea bag lets you choose from the wider tea range. Start with Kashmiri Kehwah for saffron and green tea, or explore a different flavour in the tea collection.

You do not have to choose one format for every occasion. A tin at your desk and a tea carton at home can serve different parts of the day. Make the choice around the cup you want and the time you have to prepare it.

Check caffeine and ingredients separately

Instant is a format, not a caffeine category. Both of our current Instant blends contain green tea and caffeine. No Sugar describes the sugar choice; it does not mean caffeine-free.

Our tea-bag range includes blends with and without tea leaf. If you want saffron and spices without caffeine, Kesar Kehwah is one option. Both Instant versions and the three Heritage tea blends contain almond. Always read the ingredient and allergen information for the exact product you choose.

Common questions

Can I use the same water measure for both?

Begin with 150 ml for an Instant sachet and 120 ml for a tea bag. These are the starting measures for our current packs. Taste before adjusting the finished cup.

How many cups are in a pack?

One Instant tin contains 25 sachets; one tea carton contains 20 plant-based pyramid tea bags. At one sachet or bag per cup, that makes 25 or 20 cups respectively.
